How To Cultivate Acceptance And Bring Healing To The Mind

Have you ever felt stuck or unable to get beyond a situation and wondered why? If so, it could mean there is the life lesson of acceptance yet to be learned.
As humanity pushes towards a world of acceptance and unconditional love, this transformation occurs at the personal level as well.
From a young age, it appears I had difficulty processing the energy of my environment. Eventually this manifested in the physical in the manner of peculiar ailments. Young children live more in the moment, but it isn’t long before the disempowering baggage starts piling up. The beliefs of others, the disappointments, the hurt, and loss all take place in the sub-conscious. Without healthy outlets to release or transform disempowering feelings—children turned teenagers—will sometimes latch on to some form of escapism.
Depending on how long a person hangs on to unresolved issues and how deep the disempowering patterns and behaviours are hidden, it could take decades of a lifetime to realize inner changes are necessary. For myself, it took difficult challenges in all areas of my life for me to become aware I needed to learn acceptance. It became abundantly clear that only acceptance would liberate me from the shackles of judgments I had imposed on myself.
As I learned to release judgement, gradually I was able to perceive the difference between what was of my own construct and what were the projections of others. Releasing the various paradigms I didn’t own was the first step in my learning acceptance. This is an important part of this lesson because as we get to know what originates from us, what isn’t ours will fall away easier. A bit of self-knowledge is always helpful, especially when working on improving our mindset.
Healing the mind and living in Acceptance
Free the mind
Do more of what you love doing
This helps cultivate acceptance because the mind’s focus is centered on enjoyment. Even the sense of time becomes insignificant.
Bringing as much focus to every moment is the beginning of freeing the mind and knowing acceptance.
Transform negative thinking
Learn to let negative thoughts pass through your mind like clouds in the sky dissipating into the distance. Hanging on to these gives them power. Recognize them for what they are passing through, accept them as helpful in the sense they are meant to guide, then release them.
Disengaging from negative thinking is key to wellness. Accept there will be times when this will be more difficult than at other times.
Feel well by accepting your role in your emotional state, and cultivate a more loving mind.
Release judgements and expectations
Holding on to judgements and expectations interferes with the flow of life. A resistance is created when the mind creates such labels and ideals because then, it leaves no room for anything else.
Live in a more mindful place. Let go of the need to judge, and experience the liberation of the mind and the benefits of being more present. Revel in your own beingness.
Acceptance helps foster calm, confidence, ease, flow, forgiveness, love, peace, and trust.
Forgiveness
It is hard to learn acceptance without forgiveness. By not forgiving, we are rejecting parts of who we are. We wouldn’t be who we are had we not went through what we had to experience. It is a great burden to carry the weight of unforgiveness because it opens the possibility of cultivating harmful mindsets such as bitterness, envy, resentment, and the like.
With maturity, acceptance brings forgiveness. It is more for our own self that we forgive. It is never too late.
Gratitude
Staying in acceptance allows us to know gratitude. Life is meant to teach us and help our soul evolution.
Keeping our thoughts on gratitude, love, and acceptance brings those things back to us.
Self-Awareness
Being self-aware promotes acceptance because the role we have in creating life is clearer when we accept our responsibility in it. Life is actually the result of how and what we think. Even when life doesn’t seem fair, acceptance can bring peace.
There is much to be gained with acceptance.
The rewards of acceptance are many.
Learning acceptance liberates the mind from the bondages of unconscious scripts that are most likely blocking vital life force energy. Much of what proves difficult emotionally comes from a lack of acceptance. Reiki is helpful in bringing acceptance as it gives the mind a break and lets the body rest in a moment of acceptance.
