Staying mindful of what background programming may be running in the subconscious is an ongoing commitment we need to make for our mental health and well-being. Experts reveal that 95% of how we think is directed at a subconscious level. The subconscious is too powerful of a tool to abandon to random control.
They’re out there and everywhere, the subliminal messages and images that infiltrate our psyche and rob us of our true essence of love. The distractions and disturbances of media along with fear motivated influences and hidden messages, fabricate much of the underlying subconscious inadequacy felt by so many people. Furthermore, it’s easy to remain unaware of the detrimental effect violent sensationalism can have on our psychological health when we are regularly exposed to it. What we may enjoy and think is harmless, is in actuality shaping how we feel and interpret.
It’s not only the sensitive souls who are disturbed and shaped by these practices. They are influencing the masses. Until one becomes aware of how these practices affect their energy, they may not understand why they feel unwell. With that being said, evolving societies in large have arrived at a place where they demand and expect better content.
Media is big business
As media surfers, exercising discretion in what we subject our minds to and choosing uplifting and positive content, helps us stay well all around. On the surface we may believe all is fine, but it’s deep in the subconscious that the unconscious programming takes hold. Impressionable minds are not reserved to the young. People who’ve endured trauma, have experienced or are experiencing difficult circumstances, as well as many others are more vulnerable and fragile.
Intentional sensationalism to negatively disturb, doesn’t prompt the majority of people to act differently, or help them get involved in in just causes. It leaves people feeling low and brings the spirit down. Pictures of any kind of abuse, starvation, war, etc. evoke feelings of despair and create unease. Most people will choose to forget what they’ve just witnessed, but on the subconscious level, the material has been absorbed.
Keeping it positive
This is not to advocate we hide our head in the sand and ignore the plights of so many. It is merely to raise awareness of how taking in certain content leave people feeling. Realistically, common reactions to intake of low vibe or disturbing content are aggression, anger, shame, and guilt to name a few. As a consequence of such exposure, people may inadvertently react angrily or out of character at some point without knowing why.
We live in a world of duality. We all know there are many horrible things happening. Simultaneously there are also many wonderful things occurring. If our mood is low from exposure to media that's disturbed our sense of well-being, we may not perceive the beauty unfolding all around us. Keeping our own energy high helps elevate the collective.
There are positive changes on this front. We’re seeing a surge of good news stories brought forward on social media. Blessed are they who do the good work and bring positive change. They’re the ones deserving mention and recognition.
Be mindful of mental health
As individuals, we are responsible for how we feed our minds. This is reflected back to us in the world we co-create with our beliefs. Luckily, the days when people were restricted in their choices of what to view are long gone. Nowadays, there are endless choices as to what content we subject our minds to.
Let’s stay mindful of our mental health by exercising scrutiny over what we choose to view, read, listen to, and give our attention to. This is not only something parents do for their children’s wellbeing, it is something we do for our own health as well. If the content doesn’t elevate, it is counter-productive to wellness. Not quite ready to turn it all off yet? At least balance the subconscious programming with uplifting content.
